Is your home or building in need of an update? If your property looks outdated due to its exterior, then a fresh coat of paint may be the solution. Here at Horner Painting, we proudly provide exterior painting services for commercial and residential properties for our neighbors throughout Northern Colorado — we provide painting services in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, Johnstown, Wellington, Severance, and Timnath.
If you’re curious about our painting services, we’ve cataloged some answers to our frequently asked questions below. As always, you can reach out to us as well!
Most residential projects can be completed in a day or two. Commercial projects can often be completed within a week, depending on the size of the project. If you’re curious about a more specific timeline for your exterior painting project, you can give us a call to get an estimate on the scheduling for your paint job. We’ll do our utmost to work with your schedule.
We would be grateful if you took a few steps to prepare your home for exterior painting. First of all, you can move any outdoor furniture and other belongings that will get in the way while we’re painting. We recommend that you move these objects to a space where they can’t be hit by stray paint (like the garage or your lawn). If you have objects that are especially heavy, or immobile, then we can cover these items before we paint.
Next, you should be sure to move your vehicles either into the garage (if you don’t need to use them), or to the street, so that they’re away from the house and still accessible while we’re in the driveway. It’s best to have a spot for our vans to pull up to make it easy to move equipment from our vehicle to various positions around your home.
Finally, if you have kids or pets, make sure that they won’t be outside on your property while we’re working. It’s likely that we’ll be using ladders and equipment that can be dangerous if children or pets are running by.
If you’d like a full checklist of things that you should take care of before we begin your exterior painting project, we’d be happy to let you know what you can do — just give us a call.
Yes. We provide minor repairs for siding that is damaged. We can replace or fix siding on your home before we apply an exterior paint, so that your entire home looks as if it were brand new. Take note, we don’t provide whole-home siding replacement services — only minor repairs for siding that is damaged.
Before we begin painting your walls, we want to ensure that they’re ready for an application of paint. If necessary, we’ll clean your surfaces first. We often use a power washer to remove any dirt that has glommed on to your exterior walls. We’ll also brush away loose paint, any rust that has accumulated on your surfaces, and any mold or mildew on those surfaces. We strive to ensure that your home or building is entirely clean before we apply paint, so that it will adhere properly. If we pressure wash your building, we’ll have to wait until the surfaces are dry to apply a fresh coat of paint.
Exterior paint is designed to handle weather and wind. As such, it can be cleaned with a pressure washer. If you’re cleaning the exterior walls of your building, you can use a pressure washer and a detergent (which will help to break up dirt that has stuck to the surfaces of the building). Just be sure to use the proper amount of pressure when cleaning. You can find the right amount of pressure by turning on your power washer with the nozzle about three feet from the surface — then move the nozzle closer until there is just enough pressure to remove dirt and stains on the surface of your building.
